The Sculpture Center is a non profit art institution that is dedicated to innovated development in contemporary sculpture. When I first walked in "Joia D Orixa" by Sanford Bigger immediately caught my attention. It is an oversize red doll that was dressed in a red and white glitter stripped skirt. It was placed in a clear box that had the same stripes just like a regular size barbie. At this point I was wondering what was the purpose of this doll and what does it represents. As I walked to the lower level I heard a young lady voices talking about her tattoos and what they mean to her in a video called" Dame of the World". I found this to be interesting because this is something that many people do. The Sculpture Center space is an unfinished product that has people wondering why, I think each piece fit into the architecture/space of the center because it left me with a lot of question about the exhbit. I would definitely visit the center again.
